Andrew Francis Martin, 71, unexpectedly passed away May 5th, 2021 at his home in Apache Junction, AZ due to complications after surgery. Andy was born September 18th, 1949 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon Michigan to Robert and Margaret Martin. He graduated with a music degree from Central Michigan. Andy went on to become a music teacher and band director, he also worked in sales. He had a life long love for music. He played in the marching band in both High School and College and continued to play in some form throughout his life. He was able to play just about every instrument though he especially loved the clarinet and guitar. He sang in numerous musical theater productions and was always a part of his church choir, as either a director or choir member. When he was younger Andy climbed every peak around Telluride, CO. Golf, playing softball and fishing, were among a few of the other outdoor activities he enjoyed. Andy was a friend to everyone he met. He deeply loved all the people in his life.
He was a true child at heart with a goofy sense of humor, making it nearly impossible to capture a serious picture of him. He was a proud father and grandfather whose love went beyond unconditional. His is survived by his three children, Erin (Martin)Kimble, Amanda (Martin) Travis and Cliff Martin, two sons-in-law, 9 grandchildren, 9 brothers and 3 sisters.
Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fruita, CO. on June 12th at 9:30 AM with a celebration of life party to follow at 1:00PM in Grand Junction.
