Obituary for Donald Lee Sloan

Donald Lee Sloan was born in El Paso, TX on May 27, 1953. Growing up his fathers work took the family to places all over the world. In 1974 he joined the Air Force and his position as load master continued his travels. He retired from the National Guards in 1993. He moved to Grand Junction, CO in 2006 to be with his parents, Henry Donald Sloan and Doris Elizabeth Sloan who preceded him in death.

His life long hobby and passion was his amateur radio. He was FCC approved with a call sign of KF4GTB and communicated with other radio operators worldwide.

He is survived by his two sons Donald Lee Sloan, Jr. (Yelm, WA) and Jeffery Dean Sloan, (Denver, CO), his two sisters, Rena Kay Benefield, (Rex, GA) and Sherry Sloan Smith, (Grand Junction, CO) and his two grandsons, Henry Parker Sloan and Thomas Bryson Sloan (Yelm, WA).

Service will be held on Thursday, July 11th at 1PM at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
