Obituary for Frances Lucille Grimes

Frances Lucille Grimes

Frances Lucille Grimes was born on January 9, 1926 to Arthur Edward and Dena Nell Trusen in Edinburg, Texas. Frances spent her childhood in Edinburg or “down in the valley” as she often referred to the area. In the winter of 1936 the family relocated to Jenks, Oklahoma and Frances celebrated her 11th birthday as an Oklahoman. She graduated from Jenks High School in 1944 and entered the workforce. At the time of her passing, Frances was 93 years, 7 months, and 11 days young. She lived a good, long and adventurous life.
Frances would travel to Colorado in 1955 to visit her sister, Helen. She fell in love with the Nucla area and Colorado and they would be her home until her death. Frances became a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Tulsa, OK in 1948. Frances later, married Verdon Grimes and they spent much of their time together exploring nature or traveling to other parts of the country, until his death in 1997.
Frances worked picking fruit, setting type for a newspaper, customer service for a license plate office, and multiple other endeavors that struck her fancy. She enjoyed people and family gatherings, fishing, looking at scenery and wild flowers. Frances was adventurous and enjoyed traveling. She truly enjoyed her trips to Mexico.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; Arthur and Dena Trusen, her husband, Verdon Grimes, her sister, Helen Konschak, her brother Russell “Bud” Trusen, and her great, great nephew, Richard Colton.
She is survived by her sister, Minnie Bradley (OK), her brother, Leroy (Barbara) Trusen (OK), her nieces, Carma (Gary) Fox (OK), Sandra Scott (OK), Patsy (Stan) Rhea (OK), Karla Fries, her nephews, Dan (June) Stephens (CO), Karl (Betty) Stephens (CO), and Ron Bolander (ID). Additionally, Frances is survived by numerous great nieces and nephews, and several great, great nieces and nephews.
