Obituary for Herman Earl Polen

Herman Earl Polen Sr, was a husband. brother. farther, uncle and best friend
He passed away July 1,2020 after spending the day before fishing and having fun day laughing and cutting up. He was born Sept 24, 1956 to Roger Polen and Edna Mae Bobbitt in New Albany Indiana, He was one of 15 children . After graduation from high school he joined the Army . After being discharged he was a police officer, town marshal and a private detective. In 2011 he met his partner ans soulmate Christine Nall . In 2017 they moved to Grand Junction ,Colorado where Herman could enjoy life as a modern day cowboy . He joined the Mesa County Posse and loved spending time with them as they rode the there horses He provided services for the Gymkanna. Herman was the announcer for the gymkanna , he always encouraged them to take there time so they would'nt get hurt. He was also a member of the American Legion Riders Chapter 133 in Alton Indiana where he was the chaplain,. Herman and Christy loved to go on adventures, they would leave for a day trip and be gone 3-4 days., Their favorite place to explore was Silverton ,Colorado they would look for crystals and gold., they were often successful., Herman had a beautiful singing voice and made several cd's with some of his favorite country songs ., Herman never met a stranger like he was there long lost friend and had a laugh that was so contagious that when he laughed everyone would laugh. He always had a smile on his face.,
Herman and Christine joined the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in December of 2017 ., They were sealed for all time and all eternity in Vernal Utah LDS Temple in November of 2019. Herman loved the Lord with all his heart ., He was proceeded in death by his parents,and brother Robert Ambers ., He is survived by his partner and soulmate Christine brothers, David (Marla), of High Bridge Ky, Louis (Maria),Of Grand Junction Co, Freddie, Jeffersonville In, and Eddie of Temple In, James (Julie) Roth Holladay Tn., ,and sisters JoAnne Watson Polen, of Jeffersonville In., Debbie Button of Hubbard Or., Sandy Ahmed of Dallas Tx., and Kathy (Mike) Douglas of Crestwood Ky., Children :Shari (Tim) Richards, Felisha (Jamie) Chatman.,Herman Jr., Gary Dent, Megan Nall 13 Grandchildren,and 5 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Memorial Service will be held at the LDS Stake Center located at 2888 Melody Lane On August 1,2020 at 12 noon.
