Obituary for Michael Craig BRESSIE Jr.
Michael (Mike, Bongo) Craig Bressie, Jr. passed from this life on February 26, 2020 at 10:40 a.m. after a short bout with cancer.
Mike was born on January 11, 1971 in Charlotte, North Carolina. At the age of 5 he moved with his family to Wichita, Kansas. Mike graduated from Goddard High School, Goddard, Kansas in 1988. He joined the military in 1990 and served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corp. until 1994. Mike was trained as a machinist and served in the Gulf War Theater, Operation Desert Storm.
Mike (Bongo) was an accomplished musician, playing for many years with the bands Rhello and Hipbilly. Mike was also an avid outdoors man and spent the last decade of his life camping and hiking in Colorado where he lived. He earned his living mining with his brother, Slade, for gold and gem stones.
Mike is survived by his father, Mike, Sr of Derby, Kansas, mother Pat of Wichita, Kansas, brother Slade of Grand Junction, Colorado. Surviving children are Lauren Bressie of Wichita, Kansas and Lucy Bressie of Grand Junction, Colorado, grandchildren Colton, Olivia and Mason, all of Wichita, Kansas.
A military burial service will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Grand Junction, Colorado.
