Raymond “Lloyd” Ward, age 51, passed away unexpectedly on November 5, 2020. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Sherry Ward. Children Michael and wife Paula Brewer and Brandy Brewer. Grandchildren Hugh, Sterling, and one on the way. Parents and stepparents Roy and Peggy Ward and Sanna Jo and David Weaver. Brothers Shane and wife Desiree Ward and David and wife Jess Weaver. And many more family members.
Lloyd was born in Fruita and grew up in the valley. He worked for D&RG Railroad for many years. Then moved on to seek his fortune in the oil fields. When the oil field went bust, he started his own business called 4Wards LLC. He started with pressure washing but quickly added more services, eventually specializing in sprinklers. He was a well-liked and respected handyman in the Orchard Mesa Community. He never considered it a job because he loved it so much. He took pride in his work and always made sure his clients were happy.
He liked to travel. His travels took him south to the Bahama’s and Neuis Island in the Caribbean. He has traveled as far north as Washington State. His journeys took him from California to New York.
Lloyd would greet the day with a hardy “Good morning happy campers” much to the chagrin of those night owls around him. He enjoyed the outdoors including camping, fishing, and hunting with his wife and family. He always looked forward to going to the mountains with his Kubota (RTV). He even drove that overgrown golf cart to jobs on Orchard Mesa.
Lloyd was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, son-n-law, brother, brother-n-law, uncle, cousin, mentor, and friend. The family would like to thank everyone for their contributions and support. The love and concern from everyone have been overwhelming. He was genuinely loved by many people and will be truly missed by all. Lloyd will forever live in our hearts.
