Elizizabeth Ann (Hoefer) Klocker
This is a brief story of my life before marriage.
I was born October 14, 1934 in Stratton, Colorado. I was nicknamed Betty Ann. Many people still call me by that name. I lived with my family in stratton the first grade when I attended St. Charles Academy. Then we moved to the outskirts of Golden, Colorado,. The remainder of my school years were at Maple Grove and Fairmount.
As a little girl I liked dressing up like a nun. Dolls were my students. Dolls and toy dishes were my favorite playthings. I was a tomboy also. Climb trees, ride horses (if they were gentle) play with animals and hunt arrowheads. I remember a red hen that I would dress in doll clothes and pretend she was my baby. She didn't seem to mind.
My First Communion day was one I remember all dressed in a white dress and veil, with a white purse, with my very own prayer book and rosary. I could receive the Body of Christ from that day on.
As I grew up, bicycles, ice skates, roller skates and stills three or four feet off the ground were more fun. To earn spending money I worked for farmers picking berries, beans or whatever. When I was a teenager I did babysitting. I worked at Paramount Cleaners for years until I married Marcus A. Klocker Jr.
